Oppo R1C Officially Launched

A new product that was launched today is also the Oppo R1C, a mid-range smartphone that arrives with a pretty cool casing that measures only 6.85 mm in thickness. Beside the glass layer found on the display, we also get in the package a sapphire glass layer on its back panel, all for a $400 price tag.

From the specs point of view, this model offers a 5-inch HD display (1.280 x 720 pixels), an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz on 64-bit, 2 GB of RAM memory, 16 GB space of internal storage and a microSD card slot that let us extend the storage up to 128 GB.

There’s also a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX214 sensor and f/2.0 aperture, a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor for selfie captures and a 2.420 mAh battery from. On the software site, Oppo R1C brings Android 4.4 KitKat with the Color OS 2.0.1 custom interface applied on-top. Would you buy it once available in your region?

Samsung Z1 Tizen-OS Smartphone Unveiled In India

After a couple of leaked pictures arrive previously on the web, today Samsung officially announced the Z1 smartphone, a device that runs the Tizen 2.3 operating system. In case you didn’t know, Samsung had in the past another Tizen device but its commercial launch was later cancelled.

Samsung Z1 arrives in the package with a 4-inch PLS WVGA display that offers a 800 x 480 pixels resolution, a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, 768 MB of RAM, 4 GB space of internal storage, a microSD card slot up to 64 GB, and a 3.1 megapixel rear-camera with LED flash.

Among other specs we have a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, an Ultra Power saving mode and a 1.500 mAh battery that promises up to 7 hours of video playback. Samsung Z1 weighs just 112 grams and measures 9.7 mm in thickness. This phone will be available in India later this week for a $91 price tag in three different colours: white, black and red.

XOLO One to get Android Lollipop update starting January 16

XOLO has announced that the company's budget smartphone XOLO One will soon be getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Starting January 16, the update will start rolling out to all the devices.

The XOLO One is a budget smartphone meant to compete with the Android One devices. It has similar specifications in the form of a 4.5-inch, 854x480 resolution display, quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor, 1GB of RAM, and 1700mAh battery but has a more capacious 8GB internal memory and a more premium design.

The important thing here is that even though the XOLO One is not an Android One device, it is still getting the Lollipop update before the Android One devices, which Google promised would get quick updates but are still on KitKat.

The XOLO One is priced in India at Rs. 6,599 ($106).

Xiaomi teases its upcoming flagship on Facebook

Xiaomi took to Facebook to tease its upcoming flagship smartphone. The company’s social media team released a short video full of hints about the soon to be launched handset.

As you can see above, the short clip consists of sentences with missing adjectives which should be filled by the viewers. We reckon that the missing words are 'thin,' 'bigger,' and 'curved.'

Past leaks have suggested that the next Xiaomi flagship will be ultra-thin. Rumored specs for the device include Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC, 3GB of RAM, and QHD display.

The Chinese manufacturer will reveal the successor of Xiaomi Mi4 in less than three days, on January 15. Be sure to tune in for the full scoop on the handset.

Polaroid PMID 4312 Stuck In Logon Screen

My Polaroid PMID 4312 which is like my 4311 but has Jellybean instead of ICS is goofing up on me. Yesterday when I went to turn it on it got stuck in the turn on screen. It says Polaroid and then below it this little round symbol just goes around and around and is stuck. So I let the battery in it die down and then I recharged it. I went to turn it back on and still the same thing of being stuck in the turn on screen like that. No reset button on it either. I sure hope it is not dying on me as I cannot afford a smartphone so this and my 4311 is what I use to get online out and about.

Anyone know what may be wrong with it and what I can do to fix it? Thanks for any info anyone may have. I don't see this size of tablet in stores anymore so I may not be able to replace it. Sigh.
